Easy hummus recipe: How to make hummus
I love hummus! it's such a simple dip to make and I love it with vegetables as a snack or at dinner time. Although you'll find many great store-bought options, low salt, low fat, no this, more of that, etc., I actually like making this dish at home (pesto too, coming soon..) and it's always popular with friends and family when they come to visit. I definitely think the homemade version tastes just a little bit more delicious and I will often make up a batch to keep in the fridge, when I'm at home. I've tried a number of different hummus recipes and do like to mix it up occasionally - but for the sake of this post - I thought it would be fun to share a simple hummus recipe with a twist. It contains nothing but simple natural ingredients. You can of course experiment and vary or eliminate spices according to your taste buds.
You'll need:
3 cans of chickpeas
A couple of cloves of garlic
3.5 ounces of sun-dried tomatoes
Lemon juice
1 tsp of cumin
2 tsp of tahini
A pinch of cayenne pepper
A pinch of salt
4 tbsp of water
Instructions:
Add off your ingredients to a food processor or a blender.
Mix until you achieve the consistency you prefer, stirring occasionally.
Transfer the hummus to an airtight container and store in the fridge (following a tasting session of course)
Don't forget to serve it in a cute minimalist style bowl:)
Enjoy!
